I wanna get to know this girl but not sure how?

There is this girl i really like for many reasons but only have the balls to talk to her in test not in person. Some of the reasons include she is funny, smart, interesting stunningly pretty. I have recently told her that i like her but that was a train wreck. What happened when i told her i like her is i was saying things to try and get her to figure it out for her own self but i ended up telling her i like her anyway. After that this guy that said he was her bf asked me to quit talking to her cause i was making her feel uncomfortable and i told him that i didn't know who he was a didn't wanna know who he was and that he didn't scare me at all. I just wanna get to know this girl adn wanna her to get to know me. now what all this boils down to id how do i ask her question with a little tactic so i don't make her uncomfortable or freak her out.
