Is it lame to ask a really hot girl out after meeting her in a group conversation just once?

I volunteered for this political party and today met one of its local politicians (20 something and I'm in my 30s), who is really stunningly attractive and who I remember seeing on a billboard a couple of years ago. Anyway, today I met her (but pretended I didn't know her) while we were at a bar celebrating an election. She was very friendly, tactile and made eye contact. We had a group conversation with 2 other guys but I was facing her. I noticed (when I looked down) that she was pivoted and her foot was pointing in front of her towards me, and felt the other guys body language were trying to come between us. Later when she was leaving to go to the election centre, she made a point of saying goodbye to me personally and asked me would I see her later there. In the end, I couldn't go but I now I can't stop thinking about her. I'm home now and just saw her website and have access to her fB, and even her personal phone number - its all online. I'm not really a member of her party (but support it) and besides an election, there is probably little chance I will see her again any time soon - she works in city hall. What should I do? I haven't felt so attracted to someone like this in a long time. I think she might be attracted to me, but it could be in my imagination, but I don't think so. Should I call her up or send email? I'm so clueless really what to do. Any suggestions how to handle this?
